First, the confession: I’ve been a bit obsessed with all things Gatsby (Gilded Age, Art Deco, Art Noveau & All That Jazz) since grammar school (when I had a wonderful opportunity to incarnate Daisy Buchanan in the school English theatre’s biannual production). Since then, I’ve been chasing its traces all over Europe (Paris, Vienna, Brussels, Ljubljana and there are also some great examples of the style on the Croatian coast).
On the other hand, I am really attracted to the simplicity and functionality of the modernism (go, Le Corbusier) and a great admirer of the unpretentious coziness of Scandinavian design.

So, when I got the chance to try to marry these two worlds inside a two-bedroom apartment in Ljubljana, which will be functioning as the second (and occasional) home for a cosmopolitan family, I jumped at the opportunity. The aim was to create a soft, cozy and functional dwelling with an elegant touch and an impression of Ella Fitzgerald singing in the background.

According to the principles of biophilic & sustainable design, we arranged the premises in the office building of the garden center, where the green and bright atmosphere of natural greenery and greenhouses surrounding the building was transferred to existing offices and empty spaces on the first floor and attic. Empty spaces on the first floor are dedicated to the training center and a small cafe, and in the attic we arranged 3 themed apartments and a small wellness center.
In accordance with the principles of biophilia, we are also planning to renovate the facade of the building. Visualisations of the spa and apartments.

This renovation of the sports hotels premises, expanding on over 500 m2, was particularly interesting due to the fact that the owners wanted to keep and include as much of the including equipment as possible (red frames, chairs, tables) while giving the hotel a modern, airy & sporty vibe. Most of the existing furniture dated in the 1990s, being made of the red cherry oak. Numerous pillars in variety of styles presented additional challenge.
The main design inspiration features were:
- the sports activites due to take place in the hotel
- the sports history of the spa town where the hotel is situated
- the signature local characteristics, such as mineral water with healing properties, glass-making tradition and green surroundings.
Despite all the limitations, the hotel's reception, cafeteria, restaurant and play room are now on a journey of a fresh re-make. And eager to greet the first guests in a few months. Work in progress!

The clients' request was to create a modern & airy yet cosy and warmly domestic atmosphere for their new home. We opted for a neutral colour palette with a few accents in lemon yellow & petrol blue. The use of natural materials such as wood and stone create a very natural, close-to-nature atmosphere.

Project: Invitation to Explore the World - Kindergarten
Conceptual project
This kindergarten is the invitation to explore the world. And what is the world made of ? It is the string of dots, lines and shapes. It is the play of textures and colours. The collection of sounds. The composition of elements, such as water, fire, air and earth. And it is constant communication. By experiencing all of these, each of us creates their own story within it.
The signature feature of this project are walls, made of wood, stone, glass and metal. Their function is triple: they serve as the construction material of the dedicated spaces (wardrobe, playrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, kitchen, offices, bathrooms), present a strong educational & play component and provide the opportunity for a constant communication flow. |

Veduta dizajn was entrusted with a task to liven up the asphalt and concrete surfaces of a business headquarters, situated in the mid of the industrial zone near Krško, Slovenia. We approached the task by focusing on softening the space with rounded shapes, adding greenery, and proposing natural materials such as stone, clay and wood where possible. Three variations were proposed to the client. Version 3 has been selected and is now under construction.
